Crypto backtesting, no code required

Turn a trading idea into rules and see how it would have traded on years of minute-level data, across several coins at once, with fees included. Change one rule and test again.

Configuration

After a position closes in profit or at a loss, no new position opens on that coin for this many minutes, even if the conditions are met. 0 turns it off. Maximum: 10000 minutes (1440 minutes = 1 day).

How backtesting works here

  1. Build

Pick coins, dates, stop-loss and take-profit, then add entry rules such as "RSI 1h below 30". Start from a ready-made template if you like.

  2. Run

The engine replays the market minute by minute and opens and closes positions exactly as your rules say. Trades stream in while it runs.

  3. Read

Win rate, drawdown, long versus short, streaks and results per coin show whether the idea holds up, and where it doesn't.

Questions about crypto backtesting

What is backtesting?

Backtesting runs a trading strategy on past market data to measure how it would have performed: how many trades it opened, how many closed in profit, how deep the losses went. It replaces "I think this works" with a number.

Is backtesting necessary?

It's the cheapest way to learn that an idea doesn't work, before real money teaches you. A good result isn't a promise: it describes the market conditions that happened, not the ones to come.

Why does backtesting sometimes fail?

Two common reasons: the test quietly uses information that wasn't available at the moment of the decision, or the rules are tuned until they fit a handful of past trades. Here indicators use only data confirmed up to the previous minute, entries happen at the minute's opening price, and when stop-loss and take-profit are both touched in the same minute, the stop-loss is assumed.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Rules are built from menus, for example "RSI 1h below 30 and volume ten times its normal", and the same strategy runs on every coin you select. Running a test requires a free account.
